Brewster flats as the tide is moving in... Note at high tide will cover the eel grass, the stripers will move in through the slucie ways searching for bait such as crabs, sand eels, mummychugs, herring, and grass shrimp. |
The sand eel is an important source of food for game fish. Similiar to clamming a rake can be used to catch them. The small eels live under the sand and come out to forage and the stripers can't resist flies and lures which look like a sand eel. |
